What's going on...?
Walter J Koroshetz MD Director of the NINDS presented the annual Special ESC Lecture entitled Priorities for stroke research at NIH – topics and process . In his outstanding lecture he covered the wide range from experimental to clinical research programs currently ongoing or planned for the future at the NIH and presented breath-taking insights in upcoming neuro-technologies including multidimensional brain imaging of magnificent resolution . At the end of the ESC in Vienna the large auditorium was speechless with amazement and thanked him with a long-lasting big applause.

"Wepfer Award Winner 2015" Prof R. Sacco, USA
The "Johann Jacob Wepfer Award" of the ESRF/ESC honors scientists for their outstanding scientific work in the field of cerebrovascular diseases and significant contributions to our knowledge about treatment of acute stroke.
Among many abstracts submissions 20 JUNIOR INVESTIGATOR TRAVEL GRANT
APPLICATIONS have been selected by ESC and ESRF board members. Winners were
presented in a Plenary Session in Vienna on Friday May 15th, 2015
11:45-12:45. In addition 21 HIGHLIGHT PRICES were awarded for best ranked
abstract submissions on basic and clinical research from 15 countries around
the world. Both ESRF and ESC awarded more than 60.000 € in travel grants and
highlight prices this year to support communication and information of stroke research
among students, residents, graduate fellows and young scientists and physicians.
